Ed joined Arlington in 2006.  Prior to joining Arlington, Ed worked at DLJ Merchant Banking Partners, a private equity group that has invested nearly $10 billion in more than 150 companies since 1985, and Questor, a $1.2 billion private equity firm focused on driving positive change in turnaround situations.  At these firms, Ed’s responsibilities included originating investment opportunities, conducting due diligence on potential investments, developing turnaround plans, structuring and negotiating transactions, arranging public and private debt financing, driving change within organizations, designing management incentive plans and participating in portfolio company management and realizations.  Notable transactions include the acquisition of Teksid Aluminum, an €860 million Italian automotive supplier, and the acquisition of GeoLogistics Corp., a $1.2 billion international freight forwarder that had $22 million of negative EBITDA in the year of investment.  GeoLogistics was recognized as “Turnaround of the Year” in 2006 by Buyouts Newsletter after it achieved a $60 million turnaround in EBITDA and sold for the highest multiple in the freight forwarding industry’s history.

Prior to Questor, Ed was a member of the Leveraged Finance Group at First Union Securities where he was involved in strategic advisory and financing assignments in a wide variety of industries, including automotive, building products, consumer products, distribution, food service, healthcare and media.

Ed earned an M.B.A. from the Darden Graduate School of Business Administration.  He is also a graduate of the University of Virginia with a B.A. in Economics and History.

Ed currently serves on the Board of Directors of Virgo Holdings.
