Peter M. Manos
Peter is a Managing Partner of the Firm and has shared overall responsibility for all management and investment activities of the Firm. Peter has over 17 years of private equity, public equity, and merger and acquisition transactional experience and he has closed on over $2 billion of transactions. At Arlington, Peter has been active in all areas of the Firm's investment activities and has primary responsibility for the Firm's aerospace/defense investments and primary shared responsibility for Arlington's healthcare services investments.
Prior to joining Arlington in 2001, Peter’s private equity track record included The Carlyle Group, a Washington, D.C.-based global private equity firm with over $39 billion of committed capital under management, and Capitol Partners, a Washington, D.C.-based private equity firm focused on technology, scale and infrastructure-intensive markets. As a Managing Partner at Capitol Partners, Peter built the firm's healthcare practice and successfully executed transactions including the leveraged acquisitions of CareSouth Health System and Amedisys Resource Management, two of the largest home healthcare billing, IT and management companies in the southeast. While part of the core aerospace/defense and healthcare groups at Carlyle, Peter successfully closed on numerous transactions including Howmet Corp., an acquisition of the U.S. turbine blade subsidiary of France-based Pechiney S.A., which earned over $1.3 billion in profits for its investors in less than two years; The Aerostructures Corporation, a $200 million acquisition of the airplane wing manufacturing division of Textron Inc.; and PRA International, an acquisition of one of the top clinical research organizations in the U.S. Peter's principal investing experience also includes work at Fayez Sarofim & Co., a Houston-based public equity investment firm with over $35 billion under management. While at Fayez Sarofim, he evaluated and made investments in the airline and automotive aftermarket industries. Peter's transactional experience also includes numerous merger and acquisition transactions and having taken several companies public as an investment banker at Donaldson, Lufkin & Jenrette and at Peers & Co., a subsidiary of the Long Term Credit Bank of Japan.
Peter's private equity and transactional experience is complemented by his operating experience in founding, developing and running iFINANCE, Inc., a credit infrastructure company which provides solutions to merchants and financial institutions. Peter built the company into the first paperless and instant automated multi-lender credit origination, decision and authorization provider in the marketplace.
Peter has a Masters in Business Administration with an emphasis on finance, which he earned from the Harvard Business School. He is also a graduate of Stanford University.
Peter is currently on the Board of Directors of Thermal Solutions, Chandler/May, Consolidated Precision Products, Cambridge Major Labs and Advanced Health Media. He has previously been a member of the Board of Directors of NLX, SECOR, PRA International, CareSouth Health System, and iFINANCE, Inc. and he has served on Executive, Compensation and Audit Committees.
