Michael Lustbader has spent his career working on mergers and acquisitions first as an advisor and later as a principal.  Michael joined Arlington Capital near the time of the fund’s formation in 1999.  At Arlington he is focused on outsourced business services, IT services, and aerospace/defense.  He is a Principal, responsible for all aspects of initiating, evaluating, executing and closing buyout transactions.  Michael has been intimately involved in many of Arlington’s investments to date, including Apogen Technologies, a federal IT contractor, SECOR International, an environmental consulting firm, and SignalTree Solutions, an offshore IT provider acquired from PSINet Inc. and sold by Arlington to Keane, Inc.  Michael serves on the Board of Directors for SECOR, and previously served on the Board of Apogen and the US and Indian-domiciled Boards of Directors for SignalTree.

Prior to Arlington, Michael worked at Lazard Frères & Co. LLC based out of New York in the Telecommunications and Technology practice, where he focused on advising corporate clients on mergers and acquisitions.  Michael’s transaction experience includes MCI Communications’ $43 billion merger with WorldCom – which at one point was the largest non-bank transaction of all-time, 360o Communications’ $6 billion merger with ALLTEL Corporation and Verio’s acquisition of Hiway Technologies.  While at Lazard, Michael also executed a number of transactions in IT services, including Cap Gemini’s acquisition of Beechwood, Intelligent Electronics’ sale to Xerox Corporation, and GE Capital Consulting’s sale to Metamor Worldwide.

Michael received an A.B. magna cum laude from Harvard College.
